I recently had to move houses and needed a place to stay for a few months in between, I was fortunate to come across David’s place as it was really comfy, clean and had a cool vibe!
David and John were really friendly and welcoming I’d definitely stay there again!!d tempor incididunt labore dolore magna aliqua. Ute enim ad minime dolore magna aliqua. Ute enim ad minim veniam.
David’s house is very quiet. You can rest well. It’s extremely clean! The location is very good, near the beach and several bus stops that connect you with the whole city. You have all you need. He and John are lovely and kind.
Thank you both
I lived at Arden house for over two years. It was a wonderful and great experience. The house is huge with massive kitchen(fully equipped) which is a dream for budding Masterchef to create delicacies, rooms are nice and bright and some even have their own mini fridge.
The house is in great location with beach just 2 min walk. Its well maintained and spotlessly clean thanks to the on premises Caretaker John who is really wonderful and does a awesome job. It's not a party house thats why i called this place my home not a boarding house.
David is the best landlord ever and is always there if you need any assistance.
Too bad i have to move but all in all it was a awesome and great time living at Arden house and i wish David all the very best.

Boutique guest houses can be a hit-and-miss affair. Some little more than shabby boarding houses. And I don’t mean “shabby chic”. I mean shabby d.i.s.m.a.l. As I discovered recently in Randwick, to my utter dismay. Ugh.
And, then, three minutes away by taxi from that disaster: Arden House in Coogee: a REVELATION !
The first thing that struck me was the beauty of the place: an old house with high ceilings on two levels, the design aesthetic of the owner, David, is immediately apparent: it is exquisitely beautiful. The art, in particular, is gorgeous.
But form, even at this stunning level, never subordinates function: the enormous kitchen is very, very cleverly set out and allows multiple guests to prepare meals with ease.
The three bathrooms are also spacious and kept immaculately clean. With an additional toilet upstairs, there were always facilities available when you needed them. And the washing machines, clothes dryer and line space meant I didn’t have to spend money at the laundromat across the road.
And the rooms? Gorgeous! My bed was extremely comfortable and the room was tastefully decorated, again with an eye for the practical: a wardrobe, tall-boy, bedside tables and a desk with a flatscreen tv. Perfection!
More than just looking beautiful and providing tremendous practical convenience throughout, Arden House is kept immaculately clean by the lovely caretaker, John: a kind, thoughtful and generous man who could not do enough to make my stay a wonderful one.
Indeed, David and John are two of the world’s truly beautiful souls: they genuinely care about their guests and go out of their way to be kind and helpful. Upon fleeing Randwick (“shabby-miserable”, remember? I do!), I was potentially stuck with my luggage for several hours and an appointment to attend. No problem: I texted David, arrived Arden House to be met by John: my luggage was stored and, when I returned, it was in my room.
I think, too, the fact that John lives on site added to my sense of security: I didn’t lock my room once. And all the other guests I met - mostly young people on working holidays - were delightful. The place had a lovely serenity to it: it was peaceful. And safe.
John’s gesture - helping me with my luggage - a small act but enormously helpful - set the tone for what was an absolutely glorious time in a wonderful guest house in one of the most beautiful parts of the world: dinners in the courtyard, amongst the Bougainvillea, the bamboo and the palms; waking to the solitary call of a wattle bird in the grevillea outside my window; watching sunsets throughout the window from my bed; coastal walks; gelato by the beach; cafés; restaurants; David and John’s wonderful hospitality ...
As I said: Arden House: a REVELATION ! 🌺ua. Ute enim ad minime dolore magna aliqua. Ute enim ad minim veniam.

We are two Norwegian exchange students who stayed here for 8 months. It was a wonderful place, close to UNSW, cinema, shopping center, beautiful Coogee beach and the well known Bondi Beach. There are also several bus stops that connect you with the whole city.
The Manager, David, has treated us really well. When having the inspection he even drove us to the next inspection and was always available for questions. He changed our room so we could have to separate beds and more closet space. He made it as comfortable as possible for us. He has offered to drive us to the airport several times for Christmas holidays and when leaving the house and have always been kind to us.
The Caretaker, John, has always been there to help us with anything practical related to the house. He fixed the fan when needed to, helped us with the washing machine when needed and always kept the house clean and tidy. They wash the kitchen and the bathrooms almost every day and make room for you in the fridge and closets if needed.
I want to thank the manager and the caretaker for making our experience in Australia amazing. Thanks for being so welcoming and for helping us get around in Australia
I stayed at the Arden house from January to late March to study nearby at UNSW.
This place truly became my home away from home with the help of David (landlord) and John (caretaker for the house). They were very thoughtful and made my experience a pleasant one. This was my first time living on my own and everyone in the house was easygoing and kind.
I really appreciated how clean the common spaces were, my room was spacious and comfortable.
The location was absolutely what I was looking for, just a 3 min walk to Coogee beach.
